Q&A

We have the Lorex System N842 Series. Our DVR was connected to our ATT router/modem via a Wi-Fi extender using the Ethernet cable included with system as our modem is not close to our Lorex DVR. ATT as discontinued and no longer supports their Will-fi extenders and is going to wireless extenders. Will this longer Ethernet cable connect from DVR to the ATT wi-fi Gateway which is on the other side of our room?: Please contact our technical support team. They will be happy to help you. What is the wire gauge? 24?: This is a regular CAT5e ethernet cable with an RJ45 termination.
Are these made of solid or stranded core wires inside? Can I cut and install new connector ends onto these cables?: The interior is the same as that of a standard ethernet cable, and it is recommended not to cut or modify it to ensure the best video performance.
Can these cables be joined together?: We do not recommend you join the cables, that could affect signal and power.
