Getting started with Lorex Cloud Security is quick and easy. You can activate your plan directly through your App or by signing in to the Lorex Cloud Portal on your web browser.
Here’s how:
1. Purchase and set up a Lorex Cloud Security–compatible product.
2. Log in the App or to the Lorex Cloud Portal using your Lorex account credentials on our website.
3. App only: Go to the app settings and select “Get Cloud Storage.”
4. Select a plan that fits your needs — monthly or yearly, for a single camera or multiple cameras.
5. If you have multiple cameras, select which ones you want to record to the cloud.
6. Subscribe to activate your plan.
Once your plan is active, your camera will automatically begin uploading motion-triggered recordings to the cloud. You can then view and manage your footage anytime through either the App or the Cloud Portal.

Lorex Cloud Security is available for Lorex Connect wired and wireless products and most Lorex Classic wireless (Wi-Fi) cameras. Please note that Lorex Pro products are not currently compatible with Lorex Cloud Security plans.
Cloud plans record Smart Motion Detection events — meaning your camera captures and saves footage only when activity is detected, such as people, vehicles, or other motion-based events. This ensures you’re storing only the moments that matter, saving space while making it easier to review recordings.
All motion-triggered recordings saved to the Cloud are high-quality video, at resolutions up to 2K, so you can review important details clearly. Your recordings are securely stored in the cloud for up to 60 days, giving you plenty of time to view, download, or share important events whenever you need them.
Lorex Cloud Security offers flexible subscription options to fit your needs. You can choose between monthly or annual plans — with the annual plan offering the best value.

Each Lorex Cloud Security plan is limited to one location, so if you have cameras installed at multiple properties, you’ll need a separate plan for each location.
Lorex Cloud Security plans are currently available in the United States and Canada. As we continue to expand our services, availability may grow to include additional regions in the future — so stay tuned for updates.
Yes! You can switch which cameras are connected to your Lorex Cloud Security plan at any time — without changing or upgrading your subscription. If your plan supports the number of cameras you want to use, you can easily update which devices record to the cloud directly through the App or Cloud Portal.
Yes! Combining cloud storage with your camera’s local storage gives you the best of both worlds. If your internet goes down, your camera will continue recording events locally. Plus, with secure, off-site backups in the cloud, your most important footage stays protected even if your camera goes offline — ensuring coverage without gaps.
For Lorex Connect devices with a cloud plan, you can try our new AI Smart Search feature — currently in beta. This feature allows you to search your footage using natural language (for example, “Show me clips with a person at the front door”). AI Smart Search helps you quickly find important events without scrolling through hours of video, making your cloud plan even more powerful.
Yes, you can cancel your Lorex Cloud Security plan at any time directly through your App or Cloud Portal. After canceling, you’ll continue to have access to your cloud recordings until the end of your current billing period. Once that period ends, your cloud footage will be removed from our servers, though any videos saved to your camera’s local storage will remain available.
