This device can be added to the LSHSC along with other indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi cameras, video doorbells, floodlight cameras, and alarm sensors.

 

This doorbell must be set up first on the Lorex Classic App before adding to the Lorex Center. Make sure to upgrade the camera to the latest firmware via the App. For instructions, see here.

 

Key Features:

The 2MP image sensor within the doorbell is capable of recording real-time 30fps (frames-per-second) 1080p HD video to make sure you don't miss a thing happening at your front door.

A built-in speaker and microphone allows for two-way communication and audio recording. This allows you to use your phone to speak with people on the other end of the doorbell. Audio recording also adds another dimension to your security coverage by providing valuable details (such as voices) should an incident occur.

This doorbell camera will automatically detect the light levels dropping in the evening and switch to infrared night vision. Using high powered infrared LEDs, this doorbell camera can see objects or people up to 33ft (10m) away in the dark.

The 160° ultra-wide angle lens provides you with more security coverage, as well as helping with earlier detections, which will give you more time to react if necessary.

The Lorex doorbell is not battery operated. It is designed to easily connect to existing doorbell wiring (16V-24V) and is compatible with existing traditional mechanical and electronic digital chimes. Once powered and linked to the chime, the Lorex Classic App will guide you from there.

This doorbell records directly to the included 16GB microSD card, which means there are no costly monthly cloud storage fees involved. Local storage also means that your data is kept privately in your own hands.

 

Works with Lorex Classic App:

Receive a Lorex push notification the moment someone enters the doorbell's customizable motion detection range. Clicking this notification will open the live video feed.

The doorbell will automatically start recording the moment motion is detected. The Lorex app will then archive the video after the encounter.

Lorex will automatically send you a notification telling you that there is someone at the door the moment the doorbell is rung.

Clicking on the ringing notification will automatically open up the live view and two options: answer or don't answer. Then speak into your phone to talk through the doorbell if you want to answer.

"In late February 2022, after doing much research, I bought 1 hard-wired doorbell with video camera (model number LNWDB1) to protect my home. I purposely waited until 1 full year to write this review. The doorbell has worked flawlessly. Not 1 single soft or hard reset. In terms of video quality, the camera is OK, but not great. The wedge kit was exactly what I needed. The Lorex apps works well. I had to delete the app and reinstall it once. The customer service line operates 6 days a week, for 11 hours each day. The representatives are helpful. Positives: 1) No monthly storage fee for your videos. 2) Your videos are not stored on a public cloud. You own the memory card and nobody else has access the videos. 3) Since it is hard-wired, there is no need to recharge a battery. Negatives: 1) About twice a month, the doorbell camera will fail to record a person walking in front of the camera. No pattern. It is random. 2) Other brands have clearer videos or easier to use apps. Overall, after 12 months, the Lorex LNWDB1 hard-wired doorbell with video camera has been very good."

"The set oc wedges are useless as the proper machine screws that screw the doorbell's bracket to the wedge are not provided and they are impossible to find anywhere. When I contacted the Support Line, I waited for over 10 minutes to speak to Stephanie who took my name telephone number and email address and shortlh after there was just silence on the line. I waited a couple of minutes and then hung up. I expected a call back since they had my number. It's been 2 days and no call yet! Incomplete and useless product coupled with pathetic and frustrating customer support."

Q&A

If I don’t install the door chime, will the door bell still works ? Because I am using the ring system, it works great, but the resolution not too sharp. Can not tell if is mechanical or electrical type, it will be easier if just install the door bell & not the chime.
It is recommended to use the chime kit.
