Need to boost signal since

"Need to boost signal since my home is solid brick walls with none of the cameras having a direct line of sight to the receiver. I ordered this USB extension in order to mount the receiver on an exterior house wall, high up, and hopefully allow the cameras to have better streaming/communication. I already have a junction box on the exterior wall that allowed mt to run Cat-5e Ethernet outside for a separate project, so the USB will leave through this junction box also. I connected the cable extension inside between receiver and DVR since some have posted that their cable was bad. Mine works without any issue. Will report back after I mount the receiver outside."

Sorry gents but I got

"Sorry gents but I got a defective cable. Cameras won't pair monitor shows nothing. Receiver is in direct line of sight with cameras, have moved it around everywhere still nothing. Read a post from Bob of New York with same problem. Looks like you guys got some cables that are good and bad. Simply can't give this one a good rating."

Q&A

Will this cable power the W891UA-Z camera? I am needing a run longer than the attached OEM cable. If you are not getting more inventory soon could you advise me on the cable specs that allow for the camera to be powered up. I tried using a direct connection without your enclosed adapter to a usb socket 2.4A and while it delivered some power it wasn't enough to enable activation and pairing to my wifi network. I know that a usb 2.0 extension cable will not work as I tried with one I had on hand. I'm assuming that 3.0 to 3.1 standard is what will work.
