4K resolution smart security camera

Experience the 4K difference

Thanks to the camera's powerful 8MP image sensor, you'll experience the difference that 4K resolution makes when it comes to your security. 4K means there are more than 8 million pixels, and that results in sharper video, realistic color representation and superior digital zoom capabilities.

Smart Motion Detection Plus

Limit motion detection notifications with Smart Motion Detection Plus. This feature offers the option of either Face Detection or Person and Vehicle Detection.

> </div> <div class=

Face Detection

Perfect for front doors and entranceways, Face Detection will only notify you of motion events when a face has been detected. This prevents motion notifications from people or vehicles simply passing by and not coming towards the camera4. You can also easily preview all the different faces that the camera has captured for quick reference. You can also review and filter only face detection events in Smart Search.

> </div> <div class=

Person and Vehicle Detection

Smart Person and Vehicle Detection helps identify more important objects that enter the camera's field of view. Thanks to this innovative feature, you will only get a push notification whenever a person or vehicle is detected on your property. This effectively reduces the number of unwanted false alerts caused by moving branches or animals. Recorded motion alerts can easily be reviewed by using the Smart Search function.

Smart active deterrence security camera 4K IP

Take an active stance against uninvited guests

This camera comes with plenty of features that will help ward off uninvited guests. First, there is a motion-activated warning light that can be customized to only be triggered when a person or vehicle is detected. Second, there is a remote-triggered siren that you can control from your Lorex app. When the camera sensors detect motion, the system will send a notification directly to your phone, allowing you to remotely access the camera and set off a loud warning alert.

4K IP security camera with two-way talk audio microphone speaker

Listen-in Audio and Two-Way Talk

A built-in speaker and microphone allows for crystal-clear audio functionality. Listen-in audio recording will add a whole new dimension to your overall security monitoring, as it can provide additional details (like a voice) should an incident occur. This camera also has a speaker that allows you to communicate with others through the camera using the Lorex app. *

*Audio recording is disabled by default. Audio recording without consent is illegal in certain jurisdictions. Lorex Technology does not assume liability for any use of its products that fails to conform with local laws.

Protect the things that matter with Safeguard

Lorex's Safeguard™ technology is perfect if you have very specific objects or areas that you need to to monitor. The feature allows you to set-up to three "Missing" areas and one "Left Behind" area. The Missing feature allows you to select important objects of value that you would want to be notified if they are removed from the area. Conversely, the Left Behind feature allows you to select an area to be notified if something is added.

Color Night Vision security camera

See in color through the night

This camera features our revolutionary Color Night Vision™ (CNV) technology, which will produce full-color video with the help of external lighting around the camera. CNV also adds a further level of detail (the color of clothes or cars, for example), and increases contrast for easier detection and recognition of people and objects.

Infrared Night Vision security camera

Long-range IR night vision

In regular nighttime conditions that are too dark for CNV to render full-color images, this camera will use it's infrared LEDs to record crisp black and white video footage up to 150ft (46m) away and up to 98ft (30m) in complete darkness.

power over ethernet POE 4K IP security camera

Easy PoE installation

This security camera only needs a single Cat5e ethernet cable to connect it to the NVR. This cable provides video transmission, power to the camera, a stable network connection, and installation flexibility up to 300ft (as the camera does not need to be plugged into a nearby power source).

4K IP security camera with HEVC H.265 encoding

H.265 / HEVC encoding

This security camera is equipped with High-Efficiency Video Encoding (HEVC) or H.265 video compression. This encoding technology efficiently compresses file sizes. In fact, it can compress file sizes up to 50% more than files using the previous encoding technology (H.264), without any noticeable degradation in quality. HEVC encoding will also save you plenty of bandwidth while watching live or recorded video remotely.

Reviews

Good video quality with lot of fine tuning settings

"I have been using Lorex products for years, ever since it was part of FLIR. Prior to this 4K camera, I have always used Lorex 1080P Wi-Fi cameras. Compared to my Lorex 1080P (2019 Model LNWCX-C ) camera, the image quality is a little better, color rendition much better, speed of closing out recorded file (after a recording is triggered by say a motion, the amount of time before you can view the recorded file or the system can trigger the start of a new recording) is much faster and the sound clarity is much better. The camera’s person & vehicle detection is very accurate although if you have both person and vehicle detection turned on you get 2 recordings for each event. I found the setup for the trigger to be a little confusing. I might have done something wrong but when I had motion detection turned on and vehicle and person detection turned off, the camera didn’t record anything. Now I have motion, person and vehicle all set to on and it records events as expected although if a person gets out of a car it will record 2 events for the same time (vehicle detected and person detected). As I noted, the sound recording quality is excellent. Note that the default sound recording setting is off so you need to enable it on the NVR. The camera’s video settings (contrast, brightness, etc.) which are numerous are all on the NVR. It would be more useful if you could adjust the settings on the home app. The camera comes standard with a 100 foot able. I only needed about 30 feet so the extra length of cable is a waste. A nice to have to reduce costs and better for the environment would be the option to specify the cable length as either 50 ft or 100 ft when ordering the camera. Installation Tips • Connect, configure and test everything on a table or the floor before running cables through walls to ensure that all of the pieces work. If say the camera is damaged you don’t want to go through a de-installation process including pulling out the cables you ran through the walls to do a return. • Always label all cables including power cords. • Adjusting the aim of the camera after mounting to a surface is much more limited than the camera mounting mechanism on previous Lorex cameras. The mount for the camera only pivots 90 degrees in 1 direction and only a few degrees in the other directions. It is highly recommended that before permanently running the Ethernet cable and screwing the camera to a surface that you temporarily connect the camera by running the cable on the floor and out the door. Then hold the camera in your hand while viewing the image on the app on your phone to determine the best place to mount the camera. • When selecting a location to put the NVR, keep in mind that the NVR needs to be connected to your Wi-Fi router via a cable and also needs to connect to a TV for configuration via an HDMI cable. • I mounted my cameras on the wall under the soffits (soffit = roof overhang at the top of the wall) and ran the cable through a hole in the soffit, acoss the joists in the attic and down inside of the wall to the entertainment center in the living room. It would be a good idea to run a line (thick string) with which you can pull future cables through the wall when running the 1st cable or even an additional Cat5/6 cable. • I bought a 50 ft Cat6 cable from Best Buy for $9. When I was testing the Lorex NVR and Lorex camera, I substituted the Lorex supplied Cat5 cable with the BestBuy Cat6 cable and it worked fine. Cat6 is backward compatible with all Cat5 installations and just supports a higher data speed. • Straightened coat hangers are very useful in running the cable through the attic. From the outside, I used 2 straightened coat hangers taped end to end with a piece of line (light rope) taped to the end of the hangar that I first pushed through the hole in the soffit. From the attic, with a straightened coat hanger taped to the end of a PVC pipe (very cheap & light but a broomstick will do), I snagged the line on the coat hangar stuck through the soffit and then pulled the Cat5 cable taped to the other end of the line into the attic."

Best camera on the market

"I like these cameras with the Lorex IP based NVR system. It allows you to listen in and talk (two way audio) Also has motion sensores LED lights that you can turn on and off from your phone, or your computer. Cameras also have an alarm that you can manually launch remotely, as well."

Q&A

I have suddenly lost video from one of the 8 cameras. No one has bother the Dave or the wiring. Any ideas as to how to get it back online? Reboot the system? Anything?
Call our technical support department, they will be happy to help you. Technical support: 1-888-425-6739
What is the power requirement (wattage) for my individual e892ab with warning lights activated? My issue is Frequent Blank (blackout) periods on playback across multi cameras. My concern is : Are my 12 cameras overloading the PoE on my N863A6B-Z Fusion NVR? This has been occurring ever since the final install last year. It was a packaged deal that should be fully compatible. (To bad I can&#x27;t upload an image here!)
Power Consumption 660mA / 9.5W For the issues you are having, we suggest you contact our tech support at 888-425-6739
Is this Camera Compatible with my #NR8182 NVR ? I want to swap out one of my Lorex cameras to one that I can have the LED Lights on continuously at night to better monitor dimly lighted walkway.
No, those cameras are not compatible with the NR818, but in the following link you can see all the compatible cameras that will work with that device. https://www.lorex.com/pages/compatibility?dt=NVR&amp;dp=165
Can this camera record 24/7 or will it only record when it detects motion?
It records continuously.
Is it compatible with N882A64B
Unfortunately, its not compatible with N882.
