"Not only do you not get a paper owners manual which makes things very difficult in installation and setup as well as working system but they support is poor at best. The cameras are not near 250ft night view, not even close although the day picture quality is pretty good. Also do not be fooled the dome cameras do not move, they are fixed location although difficult you can zoom in. Just not exactly what we thought we were getting and support really lacks. Therefore the 3 star."

Once the network cabling, junction

"Once the network cabling, junction boxes and conduits had been installed, it was easy to install the cameras. Once I established connectivity, fine tuning the field of view for each camera was as simple as adjusting the security screw and adjusting the camera where it needed to be pointed. I am amazed at how beautiful the 4K images are. I love that these cameras have the option to display full color at night, provided the ambient light is bright enough to activate the color mode. Even in black and white, the pictures are clear and crisp. I love that this system has the ability to map specific areas for motion detection with various sensitivity levels. I am a big fan of this feature. Also, configuring the recording schedule was easy because the setup pages on the NVR were simple to use and follow. I would highly recommend that the user download a copy of the manual for the NVR because it will help make the configurations for all sections of NVR much easier. The NVR became easier to configure and fine tuned as I became more familiar with the system. I am currently working on setting up DDNS so that I could get access to my system via the Internet, regardless of where I am. I am looking forward to completing that step. I am happy to recommend this product to others who may considering a 4K camera system for their home or business."

"Loving the new NVR and cameras. Crystal clear picture with a no hassle install. Cameras have extremely flexible mounting options on both the 4K bullet and turret. The Lorex NVR software and mobile apps are surprising more powerful than I would have guessed. However, there are some quirks in this early version of software that could be a nuisance. Pros: -Great cameras. -Picture Quality -Mobile Apps -YouTube Channel with videos ?How tos? -Great support Cons: -There are new features listed that are yet available, like ?Super h.265? -Turrets need to be reset if you switch channels"

"This is a postscript to my original review from last month (Oct,2018). Less than a week after receiving the delayed shipment of dome cameras, one of them stopped working. I was not impressed after all that had preceded, and called Lorex immediately to discuss a replacement. After confirming I performed all necessary measures to test the camera, Lorex confirmed the paperwork was underway to do so. The replacement camera arrived in 10 days at which time the defective camera was returned using the pre-paid UPS label supplied in an email. Lorex sent follow-up emails to ensure the transition was seamless. The customer service I experienced during this time is what one would hope for, and was a welcomed change over my last review. Keep up the good work Lorex!"

Building a new home wanting

"Building a new home wanting a security system so I?ve been doing research for the last few months. I didn?t want to pay someone to monitor my system as I?m able to do that myself. All my research lead to a 4K POE camera system because technology is changing and didn?t want to have to upgrade later on. Ordered the system says it will be shipped 5-7 days I received it in 3 days and that always makes a person happy when you receive something earlier than expected. Open everything up make sure it?s all there and no damage! The bullet cameras are very well built in my opinion along with the dome cameras. I was very pleased with the construction of the cameras. I hooked a few cameras up and everything connected beautifully video image on 55? tv ?non 4K? but looked great! Now the price I looked all over the internet and even had a buddy themat sells security systems and not one person could compete with the technology and price that Lorex had but the system was on sale. If I had to buy the system out right it wouldn?t have been the best price. So look out for those deals!"

"I recently purchased the 4K Ultra HD IP NVR System with 4 dome cameras and Ethernet cable. This system offers high ruggedized cameras and picture quality that will not disappoint. Excellent technical support, if needed. The system was very simple to test out of the box (I wanted to ensure all the cameras, NVR and Ethernet cable worked) and installation was a breeze. Daylight quality including color is second to none, night color performance is best if there is some ambient street light. I would highly recommend this product."

First and Foremost I ordered

"First and Foremost I ordered this system directly from Lorex in early September with a promised delivery date 10 days later. When I checked the status of my order on-line some 5 days later, it showed a status of ?In Warehouse.? I called customer service to inquire as to why. Customer service is located in Bogota Columbia, South America. Although the representative I spoke with was very pleasant, she had no idea what really goes on in their North American headquarters For example, she was unable to ascertain why it had not left the warehouse and a further call the following day revealed that the system I ordered was not even in stock as it was not yet available as advertised!!. This was for a 16 channel/8 camera configuration. Customer service suggested an 8 channel although it was priced higher than the 16 (?), they would be able to match it. They issued me a reference ticket and informed me to wait for 48 hours until checking again. They also confirmed expedited shipping to make up for the delay and frustration at no cost. After 48 hours, I called again stating no change in order status and was given a phone # for the warehouse in Ontario. When I called the next day, the individual I spoke with informed me that due to inventory and the computer system being down, that no such reference ticket had been received. Furthermore, the Ontario warehouse is for returned items only and does not ship new. I was informed that the state of Indians is the warehouse for new products and that he would contact them. Later that day, Ontario called me back confirming the replacement system was indeed available, but only with 4/8 cameras ? the remaining 4 were on back order and could be sent in early October. Expedited shipping as promised was NOT available. 20 days after my first order was submitted, the NVR and 4 bullet cameras arrived ? 7 days later, the 4 dome cameras arrived. REVIEW: PRO?S: Great picture quality and clear optical zoom Solid construction and quality materials NVR fan is not as noisy as previous models Ease of access to set up on Web and iOS Good night vision CON?S: Optical zoom cannot navigate outside of image center as with digital Search in playback is awkward ? video clips for easy reference would be welcomed Cat5 cables are cheap and flimsy ? very hard to straighten 100? from a 4? x 3+1/34? ball. The ?gland? caps are a nice idea but too large for drilling long runs ? and a nightmare to remove. SUMMARY: LOREX seems to have a great product in this configuration, but the lack of communication, web interface and ?same page? philosophy are sadly lacking. When I tried to submit this review ? I was disconnected from the web site and had to start all over again ? not a surprise!"

"My research for the best security camera system for the exterior of my home led me to Lorex. The cameras are solid 4K

"The cameras are solid 4K performers. If you're looking for an easy plug/play NVR with 4K cameras you have selected the perfect system. They have been reliable and most importantly to me their app works great! I can always call in from anywhere in the world and rely on them to provide me a live feed of the cameras. The only down side I have with this system is the long network/power cord attached. I would rather have a Cat6 connector built into the camera that I can just plug my Cat 6 cable into without having some long dangling connectors to worry about tucking up into the house. Overall, great product at a great price!"
